“I worked with Rick and Sabrina on a daily basis, as a Project Manager, during the construction of Lafayette Street in Leon County. The Lafayette Street Project from CSX Railroad to Seminole Dr. was a stormwater, roadway project with considerable slopes. The project required the removal of the exisiting roadway (concrete), curb & gutter & sidewalk, installaton of an enclosed conveyance system, re-build roadway, 8 foot scored sidewalk and landscaping. Considering the extreme weather encountered during construction and a highly visible project, Talcon Group LLC delivered an excellent project within the given contractual time.”

“The City of Tallahassee, Stormwater Managment Division, recently contracted with Talcon Group, LLC for two construction projects. The Dunn Street Stormwater Improvements, and Phase I of the Eastgate Flood Relief Project. The construction of the Dunn Street project was completed in 2013. Construction of Eastgate is currently 90% complete. Both projects are stormwater capital improvements, and located in or adjacent to existing residential subdivisions. Dunn Street was an urban stormwater retrofit project, which included construction of a stormwater managment facility and over 600 LF of concrete box culvert in a historic residential neighborhood. Eastgate, Phase I is a large primary conveyance flood relief project, which includes working within more than 3,300 LF of an active ditch that conveys hundreds of cubic feet of stormwater per second during normal rainfall events. The ditch construction involved expanding the ditch bottom to achieve widths ranging from 20-60 feet wide, and stabilizing side slopes with sod and gabion baskets.

On both projects Talcon proved to be timely in their delivery of quality work. In most stormwater retrofit projects likes these, challenges arise during the life of the project. Talcon's willingness to work with the City and the residents and stakeholders impacted by the project was very valuable. The Dunn Street project was completed within budget, and ahead of schedule. Currently the Eastgate, Phase I project is ahead of schedule. Work sites for both projects were maintained in an orderly fashion, and the quality of both projects either met or exceeded our standards.”
